Saraland High School’s Class 6A football team, the top-ranked team in their division, finished their regular season with a perfect record after a dominating 42-0 victory over Theodore High School. Quarterback K.J. Lacey, who has committed to play at the University of Texas, showcased his skills by throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receivers Carson Gill and DeShawn Spencer both had impressive performances, with Gill recording 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Spencer catching six passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Running back Santae McWilliams also contributed to the victory with 84 rushing yards and a touchdown.
The Spartans defense played a key role in the shutout win, recording five sacks, including a scoop-and-score, forcing six punts, and stopping Theodore on downs twice in the second half. Saraland’s dominant performance was a testament to their strong team chemistry and talent on both sides of the ball.
With this win, Saraland heads into the playoffs with momentum and confidence as they look to make a deep run and compete for a state championship.
