Troy’s losing streak continues as they fall to 0-3 with a 38-21 defeat against Iowa

Iowa secured a 38-21 victory over Troy in a hard-fought game at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday. The Trojans initially led 14-10 at halftime, thanks to explosive plays by wide receiver Devonte Ross, who scored all three of Troy’s touchdowns. However, Iowa’s running game proved dominant in the second half, with Kaleb Johnson and Jaziun Patterson making crucial plays.

Backup quarterback Brendan Sullivan helped Iowa regain the lead with a touchdown pass to Addison Ostrenga, while the defense also contributed with a pick-six by Jermari Harris. Despite Caldwell’s injury, Kilcrease managed to keep Troy in the game with a long TD pass to Ross.

In the final period, Iowa’s rushing attack came alive, with Johnson and Patterson breaking long runs to seal the victory. Johnson finished with 173 yards on the ground, while McNamara provided a solid passing game for the Hawkeyes.

Troy, now 0-3 for the first time since 2014, will look to bounce back against Florida A&M next week. The team faces a tough challenge ahead as they seek their first win of the season. Meanwhile, Iowa’s strong performance in the second half sets a positive tone for their upcoming games. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as both teams continue their journey through the season.
