When indoor shelter is not available, individuals were advised to avoid open fields, tall trees, water bodies, and metal objects.
In addition, safety tips for driving in heavy rainfall were provided, including maintaining safe driving distances, reducing speed, choosing middle lanes on multi-lane roads, enhancing visibility with headlights, watching for slippery roads, keeping a safe distance from large vehicles, and minding windshield wipers. It was recommended to pull over in safe locations if visibility is severely impaired and to position the vehicle as far off the road as possible with headlights and emergency flashers on.
