Hollis Wright Named Player of the Week for Outstanding Performance in Week 6 Winner’s Game

Spencer Unruh of Corner High School has been named the Week 6 Hollis Wright Birmingham area Player of the Week after receiving almost half of the total votes in the AL.com poll. Unruh’s outstanding performance in the 35-28 win against Jacksonville, where he ran for 236 yards on 28 attempts with a touchdown, earned him the title. This marks the first time a Yellow Jacket has received this honor this season.

Following Unruh in the poll was Ramsay junior Jayden Martin, who received 23 percent of the votes for his stellar performance in a 38-0 win at Minor. Martin gained 207 yards on just nine carries and scored three touchdowns. Vincent’s Jayden Roberts came in third in the voting, with 15 percent of the votes for his performance in a 31-0 win at Childersburg, where he ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

All three players have helped their teams remain undefeated so far this season and will be looking to continue their success in upcoming games. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for the weekly nominees and cast their votes each week to support their favorite players. This week, Corner will host Briarwood Christian, Ramsay will face Hayden, and Vincent will take on Tuscaloosa Academy in exciting matchups.
