A Madison man has been arrested following a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of a Harvest man. The incident took place at around 6:12 p.m. on Blake Bottom Road near Misty Hollow Way, about six miles south of Harvest.
Dennis R. Salazar, 37, was operating a 2022 Suzuki GSX-R 750 motorcycle when it collided with a 2007 Lincoln MKX driven by Ryan A. Dohrmann, 37, of Madison. Salazar was thrown from the motorcycle and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the crash, Dohrmann was arrested on the spot and charged with manslaughter, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Dohrmann was taken into custody and booked at the Madison County Jail, where he is being held on a $30,000 bond.
Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
