The Wildcats dominated the first quarter with a commanding lead, but the Hornets staged a fierce comeback in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to just one point. However, Bethune-Cookman managed to hold on for the win with clutch free throws. Asianae Nicholson led the Wildcats with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Janessa Kelley added 12 points. Kaitlyn Bryant led Alabama State with 13 points.
Despite struggling offensively in the third quarter, Bethune-Cookman’s strong start and resilience in the face of Alabama State’s comeback attempts proved crucial in securing the win.
