Alabama State’s pitching staff, led by Jafet Martinez, held the Tigers to just one hit over the final six innings. Isaiah Landry’s base hit sparked a two-out rally that resulted in two critical runs, putting the Hornets in the lead for good. Kelvin Agosto and Kameron Douglas contributed to the Hornets’ offensive effort, combining for three RBIs. Alabama State scored a total of nine runs from the fifth through the eighth innings to secure the victory.
Missouri’s Ian Lohse pitched a strong game, allowing just one run in the first four innings, but ultimately took the loss. The Tigers responded to tie the score in the third inning, but were unable to overcome Alabama State’s offensive surge. Mizzou’s hitters struggled to produce, managing just one run in the eighth inning on Mateo Serna’s RBI single.
Alabama State’s offense tallied 16 hits in the game, including 12 two-out hits. Mizzou’s Cameron Benson extended his hit streak to three games, while the pitching staff recorded 12 strikeouts. Despite the loss, the Tigers will look to bounce back in their next game against Southern.
