Former Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz is facing another setback in his football career. After missing the entire 2023 NFL season due to injury, Schwartz suffered a torn ligament in his left knee during a preseason game for the Miami Dolphins. As a result, he has been placed on injured reserve, likely dashing his hopes of playing in the 2024 season. Schwartz took to social media to express his disappointment but remained optimistic, saying, “God has never steered me wrong.”
Schwartz started his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns in 2021, but injuries plagued his time with the team. In his rookie season, he showed promise with 10 receptions for 135 yards and one touchdown, as well as some rushing attempts and kickoff returns. However, concussions ultimately cut his playing time short in both 2021 and 2022.
Despite these challenges, Schwartz signed with the Dolphins in 2023 and joined their practice squad. Unfortunately, his hopes for a comeback were dashed with this recent knee injury. With a history of injuries affecting his professional career, Schwartz faces an uncertain future in the NFL.
