Will Ainsworth is advocating for Redstone Arsenal as the ideal location for Space Command. A study conducted in January 2021 ranked Redstone as the top choice for the headquarters. U.S. Rep. Dale Strong also expressed confidence in bringing Space Command to Huntsville. Tuberville focused on recruiting engineers for the military and highlighted the work being done at Redstone Arsenal. A committee vote for Meink’s nomination is pending, with a full Senate vote to follow. Alabama leaders are optimistic about Huntsville becoming the official home of Space Command under Meink’s leadership.
