Former Alabama football player Terrance Howard tragically passed away last week after being struck by a vehicle in North Carolina. The Texas native, who was a walk-on player for the Crimson Tide in 2023, had transferred to North Carolina A&T during the offseason. Howard was in the process of moving his belongings from Alabama to North Carolina when the accident occurred.
The incident took place near Salisbury, N.C. where Howard was involved in a minor traffic accident. After getting out of his car to check on the other driver, he was struck by a third vehicle and suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to a hospital in Charlotte where he later succumbed to his injuries. Due to not having any identification on him at the time, it took several days to notify his family of the tragic news.
Though Howard did not see playing time during his time at Alabama, he was a part of the team that made it to the Rose Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal in 2023. He was set to receive a full scholarship at North Carolina A&T, a prominent HBCU football program.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up in Howard’s name and has already raised over $46,000 as a way to support his family during this difficult time. Howard’s untimely passing has left the football community mourning the loss of a promising young talent.
