Britt and Tuberville support RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard for Trump’s cabinet

Alabama Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville, both Republicans, joined their party this week in supporting the controversial nominations of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the Department of Health and Human Services and Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence. Despite Kennedy’s past statements linking vaccines to autism and Gabbard’s previous comments on Russia and support for Edward Snowden, the Senate voted to confirm them with a slim majority of 52-48.

Britt and Tuberville praised Kennedy for his dedication to creating a healthier environment for children and for bringing transparency to issues related to vaccines, food, and health care. They also expressed confidence in Gabbard’s ability to lead the intelligence community and make key reforms to prioritize national security without bias. The senators, except for Mitch McConnell, voted in support of both nominees.

Additionally, Britt showed her support for FBI director nominee Kash Patel, who advanced out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and could soon receive a full Senate vote. The senators also backed Brooke Rollins as Agriculture Secretary with a bipartisan vote of 72-28.

With the confirmation of 16 of President Trump’s nominees, including Kennedy, Gabbard, Patel, and Rollins, the Senate is working to fulfill the administration’s agenda and ensure the appointments will work to address key issues facing the country.
