Alabama Black Belt Adventures Launches 13th Annual Big Buck Photo Contest
The Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association (ALBBAA) is thrilled to announce the launch of its 13th annual Big Buck Photo Contest, inviting hunters to showcase their prized deer harvests for a chance to win exciting prizes. This year, the winner will be determined through online voting, encouraging statewide participation.
ALBBAA Director Pam Swanner emphasizes the importance of this event, stating, "Alabama’s Black Belt has earned its reputation as one of the best places in America to bag a trophy buck, and our contest celebrates the amazing hunting opportunities available in our region."
Participants can enter by uploading photos of bucks harvested in the 23-county Black Belt region during the 2024-2025 whitetail deer season. The winner will receive a $150 gift card and a copy of “Black Belt Bounty,” a coffee table book filled with stunning wildlife photography, engaging stories, and delectable wild game recipes.
Alabama’s deer hunting season commenced last month for bow hunters, with gun hunting starting on Nov. 15-18 for youth, and the full gun season running from Nov. 23 to Feb. 10, 2025.
To vote, individuals can visit the contest webpage and cast their ballots daily through Feb. 15, 2025. Each IP address is permitted one vote per entry per day, and previous winners are not eligible to participate.
ALBBAA underscores ethical hunting practices, reserving the right to reject any photos that do not align with their standards. Swanner adds, “Each year, we see heartwarming photos of children hunting with their families, showcasing how these outdoor adventures create lasting memories.”
Participants are reminded to secure their hunting licenses and adhere to safety measures while hunting, and they are encouraged to support local initiatives like the Hunters Helping the Hungry program. For more information, visit the ALBBAA website and don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity!
