Former Alabama Players Waived by Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets

Former Alabama players Charles Bediako and Alex Reese were on the court together for an NBA preseason game on Tuesday night, but their time in the league was short-lived as both players were waived on Wednesday. Bediako was waived by the Denver Nuggets while Reese was waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Both players had signed Exhibit 10 contracts, which are one-year, minimum-salary, non-guaranteed deals that include a bonus if the player spends at least 60 days with the team’s NBA Gatorade League affiliate. Reese had a strong season in the Luxembourg Basketball League in 2022-23, while Bediako played for the Austin Spurs in the NBA G League last season.

Reese had a solid performance in the NBA 2K24 Summer League for the Portland Trail Blazers and played in three of the Thunder’s preseason games. Bediako, a 7-0 center, saw limited action in the preseason game on Tuesday night.

While the former Crimson Tide players were not teammates at Alabama, their paths crossed briefly in the NBA before they were both waived. Reese will now look for his next opportunity in the league, while Bediako will continue to work towards achieving his NBA dream.
