3 Alabama football players named on initial South Carolina injury report

Alabama football’s first availability report for South Carolina week confirmed Coach Kalen DeBoer’s earlier statements. The report listed three Crimson Tide players, with edge Yhonzae Pierre listed as out due to an undisclosed injury. Pierre had posted a photo from a hospital bed earlier in the week.

Kendrick Law, who missed the previous game with a lower-body injury, was listed as questionable for the upcoming game. Kobe Prentice, who took a shot to the head in the last game, was also listed as questionable. However, linebacker Justin Jefferson was taken off the report entirely, showing progress in his recovery.

The SEC now requires teams to submit availability reports each day of conference game weeks, with the final report being revealed 90 minutes before kickoff. The Crimson Tide will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Vanderbilt as they face South Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT, with the game airing on ABC.

DeBoer had mentioned during the SEC coaches teleconference that Pierre would be out for the weekend, and the availability report confirmed this. The team is working through injuries and will be making adjustments accordingly for the upcoming game. Fans will have to wait until the final report before kickoff to know the full status of the players.
