The Kansas City Chiefs Victory Over New Orleans Saints Keeps Them Undefeated on Monday Night Football

In a game where Patrick Mahomes didn’t throw a touchdown pass, the Kansas City Chiefs still managed to defeat the New Orleans Saints 26-13, remaining undefeated in the 2024 NFL season. The Chiefs, winners of the last two Super Bowls, are now one of only two teams with a 5-0 record, alongside the Minnesota Vikings.

Despite Mahomes’ uncharacteristic performance, the Chiefs controlled the game, scoring the first 10 points and limiting the Saints to 220 yards of offense. Defensive tackle Khalen Saunders intercepted Mahomes in the end zone, leading to the Saints’ second touchdown. Running back Kareem Hunt, in his first game for the Chiefs since 2018, rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown, while JuJu Smith-Schuster had 130 receiving yards.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr threw for two touchdowns but left the game with an injury in the fourth quarter. The loss marks New Orleans’ third consecutive defeat after starting the season with two wins.

Key players with Alabama football ties, including Ga’Quincy McKinstry and Justyn Ross, were on the field for the game. The Chiefs are now on a bye week and will face the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20. The Saints will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next.
