The recent school shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia resulted in the tragic deaths of four individuals, including two students, a football coach, and a math teacher. Christian Angulo, a 14-year-old student, was remembered fondly by his family as kind and caring. Mason Schermerhorn, another 14-year-old student who was autistic, was also among the victims. Football assistant coach Ricky Aspinwall and math teacher Christina Irimie were also killed in the shooting.
The suspect responsible for the shooting, 14-year-old Colt Gray, is in custody. A vigil was held in downtown Winder to honor the victims, where prayers were offered for those impacted by the tragedy.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help cover funeral expenses for the victims and to support their families. The community has come together to offer support and condolences during this difficult time.
Attendees at the vigil wore athletic gear from the crosstown rival school, Winder-Barrow High School, as a show of unity and support. The shooting has left many students traumatized, with one sophomore stating that they no longer feel safe at the school.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and the community is rallying together to provide support for those affected by the tragedy.
