NC State has announced that head coach Kevin Keatts will not be returning for a ninth season. Keatts achieved success during his tenure with the Wolfpack, most notably leading the team on a Cinderella run in the 2023-24 NCAA Tournament. However, the team struggled during the 2024-25 season, finishing with a 12-19 record.
In a statement, athletic director Boo Corrigan thanked Keatts for his contributions to the program and acknowledged his impact on Wolfpack history. Keatts leaves NC State with an overall record of 151-113 and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Keatts’ most memorable moment came during the 2023-24 season when the Wolfpack won the ACC Tournament and made a surprise Final Four run as an 11-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Despite the disappointment of the past season, Keatts will be remembered for his passion and success during his time as head coach.
Moving forward, NC State will begin the search for a new head coach to lead the program. Keatts’ departure marks the end of an era for the Wolfpack, and the university will now look to build on his successes and continue to compete at a high level in the ACC.
