General Atomics Expands Investment in Dutch Innovation with Arceon Partnership
San Diego, CA – June 26, 2025 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), a leader in unmanned aircraft systems, has announced a strategic investment in Dutch company Arceon, following their presentation at the inaugural Blue Magic Netherlands (BMN) event in November 2024. This investment marks another step in GA-ASI’s effort to foster technological innovation through collaboration with Dutch firms.
Arceon garnered attention at the BMN event with its advanced melt infiltration process, creating high-performance carbon-ceramic components designed for vital aerospace and defense applications—such as nozzles and airframes. The partnership with GA-ASI offers Arceon invaluable access to the U.S. defense sector and highlights their commitment to revolutionizing materials for hypersonic technologies.
"We are honored to collaborate with General Atomics in advancing hypersonic development," said Arceon’s founder and CEO, Rahul Shirke. "This opportunity allows us to demonstrate our technology on a global stage."
GA-ASI’s Managing Director Brad Lunn emphasized the potential applications of Arceon’s technology, noting its relevance for high-temperature engine exhaust materials and fusion containment, thereby broadening GA-ASI’s operational capabilities.
The BMN event, co-organized with the Dutch Ministry of Defense and Economic Affairs, showcased several innovative pitches from Dutch businesses and facilitated critical discussions on emerging technologies. This partnership with Arceon joins GA-ASI’s previous investments in Emergent Swarm Solutions and Saluqi Motors as part of ongoing efforts to support innovation in the Netherlands.
Looking ahead, GA-ASI plans to host its second BMN event later this year in Eindhoven, further solidifying its commitment to collaboration and technological growth in the region.
