Ex-Texas A&M Quarterback Conner Weigman Aims to Fulfill Former 5-Star Rating in 2025

Former Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman has had his fair share of setbacks since coming out of high school as a highly-touted recruit. Injuries have plagued Weigman’s college career, but he is confident that he can showcase his true potential during the upcoming 2025 season.

Weigman was a 5-star prospect and the No. 2 QB prospect in the country when he entered Texas A&M. After some impressive performances as a freshman and sophomore, injuries derailed his progress, including a foot injury in 2023 and a shoulder injury in the season opener against Duke in 2024.

Despite advice from the coaching staff to rest, Weigman opted to play through the pain with the help of Toradol shots. Unfortunately, this led to further complications and ultimately cost him his starting position.

Now, Weigman is back at Houston and believes he is returning to form. He aims to prove himself as a top quarterback in the 2025 season under second-year head coach Willie Fritz. With Fritz’s impressive track record at Tulane, there is hope for a turnaround for the Cougars.

Throughout his time at Texas A&M, Weigman showed flashes of his potential, including a 5-touchdown game against New Mexico and a strong performance against Mizzou in 2024. Now, as he enters a new chapter at Houston, all eyes will be on Weigman to see if he can fulfill the promise he showed coming out of high school.
