Honeywell to Deliver Key Technology for Mozambique’s Rovuma LNG Project
Honeywell is set to provide technology for purifying natural gas in Mozambique’s Rovuma LNG project, a joint venture between ExxonMobil, Eni S.p.A., and CNPC. The technology, developed by Honeywell UOP, will play a crucial role in meeting the demand for natural gas and improving energy accessibility in the region.
The technology includes a heavy hydrocarbon removal unit and a unit for removing water and carbon dioxide, ensuring that the natural gas meets industry standards with minimal pressure loss. This will allow for the production of 18 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually.
Rajesh Gattupalli, president of Honeywell UOP, emphasized the importance of the technology in enhancing natural gas quality and maximizing production efficiency. ExxonMobil Mozambique’s general manager, Arne Gibbs, highlighted the commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility in integrating Honeywell’s technologies into the project design.
The collaboration between Honeywell and MRV demonstrates a commitment to cleaner energy solutions and positions Mozambique as a key player in the global energy market. The investment in technology and infrastructure not only supports economic growth but also promotes technology-driven solutions for addressing energy challenges worldwide.
Local communities in Mozambique can look forward to enhanced energy access as a result of this collaboration. As the world seeks cleaner energy solutions, the partnership between Honeywell and MRV showcases the potential for technology to drive progress in the energy sector.
