ADVA Commissioner Jeff Newton also emphasized the need for increased outreach to connect veterans with available resources, such as vet centers that offer free peer-to-peer counseling. The ADMH was recently awarded nearly $28 million from Alabama’s opioid settlement, with a portion earmarked for prevention and treatment grants.
