Alabama Forestry Association Appoints Anna Morgan Skipper as Director of External Affairs
Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) has announced the promotion of Anna Morgan Skipper to the position of Director of External Affairs. AFA made the announcement on Friday, highlighting Skipper’s prior role as Grassroots Coordinator since 2021.
In her new capacity, Skipper will collaborate closely with AFA’s General Counsel, Tom Saunders, to oversee legislative and political affairs initiatives. Saunders emphasized Skipper’s pivotal role in developing highly effective grassroots and advocacy campaigns in Alabama. “Her intuition and ability to understand and communicate complex issues have positioned her for immediate success in public policy,” he remarked.
AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson echoed these sentiments, praising Skipper’s contributions and unique qualities. “Her charm, intelligence, determination, and relentless work ethic have made her an outstanding advocate for Alabama’s forestry community,” Isaacson stated.
Raised in Clarke County, where the forestry sector significantly impacts the local economy, Skipper earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. Now residing in Montgomery, she is married to Edward Skipper, a forester at Harrigan Lumber Company in Monroeville.
Skipper’s promotion comes at a time when Alabama’s thriving $36 billion forestry industry continues to drive rural growth and innovation, further underscoring the importance of effective advocacy in the sector.
As she steps into her new role, industry stakeholders and AFA members look forward to her leadership, anticipating continued growth and support for Alabama’s vital forestry interests.
