A 23-year-old woman named Matilda Campbell was rescued in Australia after being stuck upside down between boulders for seven hours. Her friends tried to free her but were unsuccessful, prompting them to call Triple Zero for help. NSW Ambulance responded by creating a safe access point and building a hardwood frame for stability. The rescue team navigated the patient through a tight ‘S’ bend for an hour and used a winch to move a 500 kg boulder. Despite the challenging situation, Campbell remained calm and cooperative throughout the ordeal. NSW Ambulance Specialist Rescue Paramedic Peter Watts described the rescue as challenging but rewarding. In total, crews removed seven boulders weighing between 80 to 500 kilograms to free Campbell. She only sustained minor scratches and bruises, but unfortunately, her phone was left behind during the rescue. Overall, the successful rescue operation was a testament to teamwork, skill, and dedication.
