No Feud: Goggins and Wood Clarify Friendship Amid Social Media Speculation
In a recent interview with Variety, "The White Lotus" stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood dispelled rumors of a feud, emphasizing that their bond remains strong despite internet chatter. The actors, who portrayed lovers Rick and Chelsea in the acclaimed HBO series’ third season, addressed concerns stemming from Goggins unfollowing Wood on Instagram.
“There is no feud,” Goggins, a Birmingham native, affirmed. “I adore this woman madly. She’s so important to me.” He praised Wood’s talent, comparing her to iconic actresses Goldie Hawn and Meg Ryan, and confidently predicted a bright future for her. “You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be,” he said, expressing his admiration for Wood’s potential.
Wood, too, echoed the sentiment, questioning the obsession over social media dynamics. “We don’t give a sh– about Instagram,” she stated. “Why not have conversations about the story and enjoy it?” The duo has since re-followed each other, quelling any residual speculation among fans.
Goggins also reflected on the emotional significance of filming in Thailand, a place he had visited previously during a personal crisis following the suicide of his late wife, Leanne Knight. He described it as a “full-circle moment,” recognizing familiar landmarks from two decades ago.
With their friendship intact and a shared commitment to their craft, Goggins and Wood are focused on their roles rather than the noise of social media. As they continue to captivate audiences with their performances on “The White Lotus,” they remain steadfast allies both on and off the screen.
