Alabama football has received recognition from the Walter Camp Football Foundation with four players listed on its annual preseason all-America teams. The Crimson Tide had two players named to the first team and two to the second team in the 135th edition of the honor, chosen by FBS head coaches and sports information directors.
Offensive guard Tyler Booker and new kicker Graham Nicholson were on the first team. Nicholson, a transfer from Miami of Ohio, won the Lou Groza award for the nation’s top kicker and was a first-team all-American. Booker, a junior, is a leader on Alabama’s offensive line.
Parker Brailsford, another offensive lineman, made the second team after joining Alabama from Washington. He is expected to start at center for the Crimson Tide. Punter James Burnip, a native of Australia, was also listed on the second team. He ranked second in the SEC last season with an average of 47.6 yards per punt and was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award.
Alabama will kick off its 2024 season on Aug. 31 against Western Kentucky at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Fans can follow updates on the Crimson Tide from AL.com’s beat writers.
