Naresh Bhatt has been arrested on suspicion of concealing a dead body, four weeks after his wife Mamta Kafle Bhatt went missing in Virginia. Mamta, a pediatric nurse, was last seen on July 27 and her one-year-old daughter has been taken into care. Authorities have not confirmed if a body has been found, but the arrest is in connection with her disappearance. Additional charges may be brought as the investigation continues. Naresh is held without bond and is due in court on Friday. He claimed to last see his wife on July 31, but she was not reported missing until Aug. 8. Her credit cards and phone have shown no activity since her disappearance. Friends and family have held a candlelit vigil outside her home and searches have been organized by the community and her co-workers. A GoFundMe account has raised nearly $14,000 to help with the search efforts.
