Two individuals facing charges for the murder of ‘General Hospital’ actor Johnny Wactor in fatal shooting

Two teenagers, Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada, have been charged with the murder of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor, who was killed in May while interrupting a catalytic converter theft. Barceleau is facing special circumstance allegations of killing during an attempted robbery, while Estrada is also charged with attempted robbery and grand theft, both while allegedly armed with a gun. Two other suspects, Leonel Gutierrez and Frank Olano, were also arrested in connection with the crime.

Gutierrez is charged with attempted robbery and grand theft, while Olano is charged with accessory after the fact to murder and other offenses. If convicted, Barceleau could face life in prison without parole, Estrada could be sentenced to life in prison, Gutierrez could face four years and eight months, and Olano could face five years and eight months. The suspects were scheduled to be arraigned and were being held on varying amounts of bail.

Wactor was fatally shot after he finished a bartending shift and found men stealing his car’s catalytic converter in downtown Los Angeles. A friend who was with him during the incident described how Wactor remained calm and non-threatening as he tried to stop the theft. Wactor, who was 37 years old and from South Carolina, played Brando Corbin in “General Hospital.” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón vowed to seek justice for Wactor and hold the responsible parties accountable.
