Tuberville Secures Over $3 Million in Initial Week of Gubernatorial Campaign

Sen. Tommy Tuberville Shatters Fundraising Records in Gubernatorial Bid

In a remarkable display of financial backing, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville has raised over $3 million in just one week since launching his campaign for Alabama governor. According to his latest campaign finance report filed with the Secretary of State, Tuberville accumulated a staggering $3,058,312.99 in contributions following his announcement last Tuesday.

A significant portion of these funds came from Alabama residents, although donations also emerged from states like New Jersey, South Carolina, Montana, and Virginia. Among notable contributions are a $175,000 donation from Chad Witcher of Cullman and $25,000 from McGraw-Web Chevrolet in Camden, along with numerous smaller donations.

Tuberville’s fundraising surge set an Alabama record, with an impressive $2,064,723 raised within the first 24 hours of his campaign. His extensive war chest, coupled with strong name recognition, positions him as a formidable candidate as he seeks to succeed term-limited Gov. Kay Ivey.

Challenging Tuberville in the GOP primary is Ken McFeeters, who previously ran for Alabama’s sixth congressional district seat in 2024. However, details regarding McFeeters’ fundraising are not yet available.

So far, Tuberville’s campaign has spent $6,577.08, leaving him with a robust cash-on-hand total of $3,051,735.91. Jackie Curtiss Cox, Tuberville’s campaign fundraiser, emphasized the grassroots nature of the contributions, stating, “Importantly, these were not from PAC donations — every dollar came from small business owners, entrepreneurs, workers, and retirees.”

As Alabama candidates prepare for the primary election on May 19, 2026, Tuberville’s record-setting fundraising provides a significant edge in the race to become the next governor.
