Manufacture Alabama Endorses U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville for Governor
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a significant early endorsement, Manufacture Alabama has backed U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville in his campaign to succeed term-limited Governor Kay Ivey. The announcement came during the trade association’s recent visit to Washington, D.C., where President Jon Barganier revealed that the endorsement received unanimous approval from the board of directors, marking the earliest gubernatorial endorsement in the association’s history.
Barganier emphasized the importance of the endorsement, highlighting the substantial economic contribution of the manufacturing sector in Alabama, which generates an annual $40 billion impact. “Manufacture Alabama seeks to endorse pro-business candidates who advocate for our manufacturers,” Barganier stated. He noted Tuberville’s commitment to working collaboratively with the association and its member companies to enhance the manufacturing landscape in the state.
In response, Tuberville shared his vision for Alabama’s growth, focusing on essential areas such as energy, transportation, and workforce development. He stressed the need for strategic initiatives to foster an environment where manufacturing can thrive. “The three things that we’ve got to have, we’re going to work hard on are energy, transportation, and workforce,” Tuberville said to the association.
The senator, who recently launched his gubernatorial campaign, is gaining momentum, reportedly raising over $3 million within the past week. His campaign has also garnered support from prominent organizations, including the Club for Growth PAC and the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers Association of Alabama.
As Tuberville gears up for the election, his advocacy for pro-business policies could position him favorably among voters looking for robust economic growth in Alabama.
