Transfer QB Conner Weigman from Texas A&M commits to Big 12 program, per reports

After three seasons at Texas A&M, quarterback Conner Weigman has announced his commitment to continue his college football career at the University of Houston. Weigman made the decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3, and on the third day of the undergraduate window, he officially chose Houston.

Weigman played 15 games for Texas A&M from 2022-2024 under coaches Jimbo Fisher and Mike Elko. Throughout his career, he faced various injuries, including a season-ending injury in 2023 that led to him taking a redshirt. This season, he was sidelined early on due to injury, allowing Marcel Reed to step in as the starting quarterback. Despite Reed’s success, Weigman’s stats include completing 60% of his passes for 2,694 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, in addition to rushing for 261 yards and 2 scores.

Weigman was a highly rated recruit in the Class of 2022, earning 5-stars and ranking as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 22 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite. The Cougars, coming off a 4-8 season with a 3-6 record in Big 12 play in 2024, will undoubtedly benefit from Weigman’s skills and experience as they look to improve their performance on the field.
