Alabama Weather Update: Storms and Heat Advisory

Meanwhile, Alabamians can expect continued warm weather accompanied by thunderstorms. High temperatures will range from 91-95°F, with opportunities for afternoon and evening rain showers and storms across the state. Scattered thunderstorms are particularly prevalent in the southern third of Alabama, where some are anticipated to become severe, producing heavy rain, gusty winds, and scattered lightning.

As of 4:29 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated ongoing heavy rainfall and concerns of flash flooding in several areas, particularly near Riverchase and Bessemer. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple severe thunderstorm warnings affecting Jefferson and surrounding counties, projecting further storms throughout the day.

Despite potential threats from storms, many regions will maintain temperatures in the low to mid-90s with a partly sunny sky. Heat index values may exceed 105°F, prompting continued heat advisories across the area.

Additionally, two of Birmingham’s popular restaurants, El Barrio and Paramount, are set to open additional locations in West Homewood, showcasing the city’s growing dining scene. As the weather remains warm and stormy, residents are advised to stay informed and prepared for potential severe weather conditions.
