Texas A&M edge rusher Cashius Howell is channeling energy from his recent preseason All-SEC snub as he prepares for the upcoming 2025 season. The Kansas City native, known for his aggressive style and impressive performance last year, registered 40 tackles, including 26 solo efforts, alongside 4 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception.
Reflecting on his omission from the preseason All-SEC list during a press conference on Wednesday, Howell maintained his usual focus, asserting, “Not necessarily surprised. You’re talking to a guy who was once rated 2,000th-best player in my class. I’m used to not getting picked and overlooked, so it just adds fuel to the fire for me.” His versatile play also shone in 2024 with 7 pass deflections, underscoring his adaptability and skill.
Howell’s journey has seen him transition from three seasons at Bowling Green to a standout year in College Station. In his final season at Bowling Green, he recorded an impressive 27 tackles, 15 of which were solo, alongside 9.5 sacks, proving his capability as a dominant force on the field.
