Texas A&M secures commitment from veteran quarterback in transfer portal, entering his 7th year.

Texas A&M has made an important addition to its football team by securing a commitment from veteran quarterback Jacob Zeno, who will be joining the Aggies for his 7th season of college football after previously playing for UAB. Zeno had a successful season with the Blazers in 2024, playing in 4 games and throwing for over 800 yards with 6 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Zeno began his college career at Baylor in 2019 before transferring to UAB in 2022. Over his college career, he has thrown for almost 5,000 yards and 32 touchdowns. His best season was in 2023 when he led the Blazers to a 4-8 record with over 3,000 passing yards and 20 touchdowns.

At Texas A&M, Zeno will provide depth at the quarterback position following the departure of Conner Weigman, who entered the transfer portal. With Marcel Reed and Miles O’Neill still on the roster, Zeno adds experience and skill to the Aggies’ quarterback room. This signing is a significant move for Texas A&M as they continue to build a competitive team for the upcoming season. Bryce Lazenby, a college football writer covering the sport for Saturday Down South, shared the news of Zeno’s commitment to the Aggies, highlighting the impact it will have on the team’s depth and overall performance.
