Steve Henderson, a Hoover resident, had his first experience driving an electric vehicle at the Little River Earth Fest on Saturday. Provided by Donohoo Chevrolet, Henderson test drove an all-electric Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck and was impressed by its acceleration and smooth, quiet ride. This experience prompted him and his wife, Donna, to consider going electric for their next vehicle purchase.
The event, organized by Donohoo Chevrolet in collaboration with Drive Electric Alabama and the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, offered free EV test drives to attendees. This was the first time test drives were available at a Drive Electric Alabama EV showcase. In addition to Donohoo Chevrolet’s Chevy EV lineup, EV owners showcased various makes and models to educate the public about EV technology and affordability.
Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition President Michael Staley emphasized the importance of personal experience in changing perspectives about EVs. The organization has two more EV showcases planned for later in the month, aiming to continue educating the public and promoting the benefits of driving electric vehicles.
