Dothan Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking Conspiracy
DOTHAN, AL – Chad Cornelius Seymore, 49, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to a significant sex trafficking conspiracy that spanned across South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. The plea, announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, includes conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, use of coercion, receiving benefits from trafficking, interstate travel for racketeering, and money laundering.
Court documents reveal that Seymore, along with accomplices, orchestrated a scheme over four years, wherein they bonded women out of county jail to force them into engaging in sex acts in Alabama and North Florida. Seymore reportedly targeted vulnerable women suffering from drug addictions, using various methods, including online advertisements and hotel recruitment. Victims were threatened and physically abused during their exploitation.
In a related case, Kimberly Robinson Gandy, 47, from Gulfport, Mississippi, has also been implicated in the conspiracy. She was found guilty of charges related to sex trafficking in Panama City Beach and Destin. The duo allegedly transferred trafficked funds using online money exchange platforms.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin expressed gratitude to the many law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, highlighting the dismantling of this trafficking conspiracy as a victory for the victims. Sentencing for Seymore is set for August 15, while Gandy’s will occur on September 15. Both will be held at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative aimed at combatting illegal immigration and dismantling criminal organizations. Heekin reaffirmed the commitment of his office to vigorously prosecute those involved in human trafficking, echoing the promises of President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
