Shedeur Sanders doesn’t get picked in the initial round of NFL draft

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes was not selected in the first round of the NFL draft, despite being a polarizing prospect. Many mock drafts had predicted he would be chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they opted for Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon instead. The only other quarterback taken in the first round after Cam Ward was Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, selected by the New York Giants.

Sanders, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year at Colorado, where he had an impressive senior campaign. He began his collegiate career at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado, where he helped the team achieve a significant improvement in their win-loss record.

In the lead-up to the draft, scouts and coaches raised concerns about Sanders’ attitude and decision-making on and off the field. Despite criticism of his arm strength and decision-making, he has been praised for his accuracy. Sanders remains positive in the face of negativity, stating that he enjoys chaos as it reveals who truly supports him. He remains unfazed by criticism and embraces the challenges he faces.
