Terron Armstead Inducted into Senior Bowl Hall of Fame

Point Clear, AL – Terron Armstead celebrated a pivotal moment in his football career on Sunday at the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held at the Grand Hotel Gulf Resort and Spa. Alongside fellow honorees Geno Atkins, Jon Gruden, Alex Mack, and Richard Sherman, Armstead reminisced about his journey since participating in the 2013 Senior Bowl.

The ceremony featured a nostalgic display of photographs capturing the athletes in their Senior Bowl uniforms, evoking memories for Armstead. "Just the memories… It’s amazing to be here," he remarked. Each inductee reflected on their experiences, with Mack appreciating the shift from player rivalries to sharing stories of their glory days now that they are retired.

During their NFL careers from 2013 to 2020, Armstead, Atkins, Mack, and Sherman demonstrated exceptional talent, with Gruden coaching during multiple Senior Bowls. Gruden emphasized the event’s value, noting, "We got to know not only how good the players were but their leadership skills and practice ethic." His coaching tenure saw the rise of significant talents, showcasing how the Senior Bowl served as a launchpad for future success.

Before his retirement, Armstead, drafted by the New Orleans Saints, played 131 games and was a five-time Pro Bowl selection. He expressed pride in his career’s foundational moments at the Senior Bowl. Meanwhile, Mack and Atkins each received multiple Pro Bowl honors, reflecting their stellar football careers.

The festivities continue with the fifth annual Senior Bowl Charities Celebrity Golf Classic. Proceeds will benefit underfunded public high school football programs in the area. Gruden, recently enshrined for his coaching accomplishments, viewed the honor as a significant accolade in his career, underscoring the Senior Bowl’s legacy in football.
