With the Southeastern Conference (SEC) softball regular season concluded, attention shifts to the conference’s recognition of its standout players. On Friday, as the stage is set for the conference tournament semifinals, the SEC announced its prestigious awards for the 2025 season.

Arkansas’s Bri Ellis has been named Player of the Year, while Tennessee’s Karlyn Pickens took home Pitcher of the Year honors. Oklahoma’s Sam Landry—making waves in her first SEC season—earned Newcomer of the Year, and the legendary Patty Gasso, also from Oklahoma, secured the Coach of the Year title. LSU’s Tori Edwards was recognized as the Freshman of the Year.

The All-SEC First Team features a stellar lineup, including standout players from various schools such as Alabama’s Audrey Vandagriff, Auburn’s AnnaLea Adams, and Florida’s Kendra Falby. Notably, several Oklahoma players, including Landry and Pickens, were recognized for their exceptional contributions.

The All-SEC Second Team spotlights more talent, including names like Kali Heivilin from Alabama and Hallie Mitchell from Kentucky, showcasing the depth of skill within the conference.

Additionally, the SEC’s All-Defensive Team highlights elite defenders, with Landry recognized as the top pitcher, and standout defensive players from multiple programs rounding out the roster.

Oklahoma has claimed the SEC regular-season title, positioning itself as a formidable contender in the conference tournament. The Sooners are set to face No. 5 seed Arkansas in the semifinal, while No. 3 seed Texas competes against No. 2 seed Texas A&M. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

As the SEC wraps up an exciting season, the spotlight is firmly on its emerging stars and the intense competition that defines SEC softball.
