SEC Dominates PFF Preseason All-America List
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has once again demonstrated its football prowess, claiming 12 spots on PFF’s Preseason All-America list for the upcoming season. This impressive showing underscores the league’s depth of talent as college football gears up.
Notably, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams and left tackle Kadyn Proctor lead the SEC contingent. Williams, fresh off a stunning freshman year in 2024, racked up 48 receptions for 865 yards and 8 touchdowns, establishing himself as a primary target in the Crimson Tide’s offense. Protecting Williams’ quarterback will be Proctor, whose importance on the offensive line cannot be overstated.
Florida’s center Jake Slaughter joins the list, showcasing the strong talent emerging from the SEC’s offensive lines. Texas contributes two standout players: edge rusher Colin Simmons and linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., both crucial for the Longhorns’ pursuit of a College Football Playoff return.
Defensively, Texas A&M’s Taurean York, a key linebacker, and right guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams were also acknowledged, highlighting the Aggies’ formidable roster. Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy had an impressive 89.6 coverage grade in 2024, solidifying his reputation among Power 4 cornerbacks.
South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart, a former 5-star recruit, made waves with a 91.4 pass-rush grade, while Missouri’s Cayden Green and Vanderbilt’s Eli Stowers, transitioning from quarterback to tight end, were also recognized.
Finally, Georgia’s Brett Thorson made the list as a standout punter in the special teams category.
This strong SEC representation illustrates the conference’s ongoing dominance and sets the stage for an exciting season ahead in college football.
