American Oversight, a government ethics group, sued to obtain the report, which was released after a judge’s order. The incident occurred while Trump was at the cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony commemorating fallen service members. The cemetery had rules against political campaign activities and photography in certain areas. Trump’s campaign denied elements of the incident, and a former White House chief of staff accused him of making troubling comments about military matters, including praising Hitler. Trump has denied making these remarks. The incident at Arlington National Cemetery raised concerns about the behavior of Trump’s campaign staff and added to scrutiny on his views on the military.
