The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a conditional draft pick. The trade reunites Adams with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as the two previously played together on the Green Bay Packers. Adams, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury but has recorded 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown this season. The Jets are hoping Adams can help boost their passing offense, which has been ranked 16th in the NFL with an average of 217.2 passing yards per game. The team also recently fired head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets are currently 2-4 and in third place in the AFC East after losing to the Buffalo Bills on Monday. Adams, 31, was a second-round pick of the Packers in 2014 and spent nine seasons with Green Bay before being traded to the Raiders in March 2022. Last season, Adams had an impressive performance with 103 catches for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. Throughout his career, Adams has garnered 890 receptions for 10,990 yards and 96 touchdowns in 153 games.
