Renting in suburban areas is experiencing significant growth as homeownership becomes increasingly unattainable for many. Between 2018 and 2023, 11 of 20 suburbs surrounding major U.S. metro areas saw a surge in renters, with 15 suburbs transitioning from predominantly homeowner populations to majorities of renters, as analyzed by Point2Homes.
