Proceeds from Joplin Memorial Run donated to Bright Futures by Active Lifestyle Events – KSNF/KODE – FourStatesHomepage.com

Active Lifestyle Events, the organizers of the Joplin Memorial Run, recently announced that they will be donating the proceeds from the event to Bright Futures, a local nonprofit organization that supports underprivileged children in the Joplin community.

The Joplin Memorial Run, which took place on May 22nd, drew participants from all over the area to honor the victims of the devastating tornado that struck Joplin ten years ago. The event featured a variety of races, including a half marathon, 10K, and 5K, as well as a virtual option for those unable to attend in person.

“We are thrilled to be able to support Bright Futures and the incredible work they do for children in our community,” said Alex O’Brien, co-founder of Active Lifestyle Events. “The Joplin Memorial Run is not only a way to remember those we lost in the tornado, but also a way to give back to the community that has shown such resilience and strength in the face of adversity.”

Bright Futures, founded in 2010, works to provide resources and support to students in need, including food, clothing, and school supplies. The organization also partners with local businesses and community members to create opportunities for students to succeed academically and socially.

“We are so grateful for the support of Active Lifestyle Events and the participants of the Joplin Memorial Run,” said Megan Simmons, Executive Director of Bright Futures. “Their generosity will make a real difference in the lives of children in our community who need it most.”

Overall, the Joplin Memorial Run was a huge success, both in terms of raising funds for a worthy cause and bringing the community together to remember and honor those affected by the tornado. Active Lifestyle Events and Bright Futures are already looking forward to next year’s event and the impact it will have on the lives of children in Joplin.
