Paul Finebaum Declares SEC Will Dethrone Big Ten
In a bold prediction during a recent appearance on Netflix Sports, college football analyst Paul Finebaum asserted that an SEC team will emerge as the national champion this season, quelling the ongoing Big Ten fanfare. Finebaum, who has been on the receiving end of Big Ten fans’ enthusiasm, expressed his frustration, stating, "I am so sick and tired of being harassed by Big Ten fans on our show."
The SEC and Big Ten have been fierce competitors, especially with the latter’s recent championships, including Michigan’s title win in 2021. However, Finebaum dismissed the Big Ten’s accomplishments, claiming they have "literally done nothing" in the realm of national titles over decades, in sharp contrast to Alabama’s impressive tally of approximately 15 championships since his youth.
Finebaum’s remarks are likely to spark debate, as fans may remind him of the historical titles won by Michigan (1997) and Ohio State (2002, 2014). Yet, he remains hopeful that Texas or another SEC team will reclaim dominance, allowing him to breathe easy from the barrage of Big Ten supporters.
"If it’s not an SEC team, I’m leaving the country," Finebaum quipped, emphasizing his desire for an end to the "Little Tenners" chatter from the Big Ten fanbase. He looks forward to January 20, hoping to celebrate an SEC victory and enjoy peace from what he terms the ongoing "Big Ten harassment."
As the countdown to the season continues, all eyes will be on the SEC to see if Finebaum’s predictions hold true.
