The men’s skateboarding event at Place de la Concorde Urban Park in Paris had to be postponed from Saturday to Monday due to adverse weather conditions, while the women’s event was set for Sunday. The wet weather in Paris caused delays and disruptions to several events, including the opening ceremony and the start of tennis matches at Roland Garros. Despite the rainy start to the games, sunny skies are expected to return on Sunday.
The first medal of the Games was awarded on Saturday to Kazakhastan in the 10m shooting event, but on Sunday, gold medals will be awarded in archery, canoe slalom, cycling mountain bike, fencing, shooting, and swimming. The women’s skateboarding event was also postponed due to the rain.
Paris 2024 organizers are keeping an eye on the forecast for the coming days, especially in regards to the water quality for the triathlon event in the Seine River. Despite the rain, the team remains confident that the swimming portion of the triathlon can proceed as planned.
On Sunday, spectators can look forward to exciting competition in archery, canoe slalom, cycling mountain bike, fencing, shooting, and swimming, with events scheduled throughout the day. The rainy conditions may have caused some delays, but the Paris Games are still set to showcase thrilling athletic performances and award-winning moments.
