Oregon Ducks Reach Women’s College World Series for First Time Since 2018
EUGENE, OR – The Oregon Ducks secured their spot in the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) for the first time since 2018, overcoming Liberty in an intense Super Regional showdown. Seeded No. 16 in the tournament, Oregon hosted the Super Regional after a surprising defeat of No. 1 seed Texas A&M by the Flames.
Liberty showcased impressive tenacity, pushing the series opener into extra innings before ultimately falling to the Ducks, 3-2. This victory set the stage for a decisive Game 2, where Oregon’s dominance was on full display.
In a pivotal second inning, Paige Sinicki’s solo home run sparked the team’s momentum, contributing to a 2-run inning. The Ducks didn’t let up—Emma Cox later delivered a commanding 3-run homer and the team erupted for 7 runs in the seventh inning, culminating in a 13-1 rout of Liberty. Sinicki shone brightly in the matchup, boasting 3 hits, 2 runs, and 4 RBIs, highlighted by a bases-clearing triple that underscored Oregon’s offensive power. Notably, the 13 runs marked a record for the Ducks in a Super Regional game.

With this impressive win, Oregon joins the ranks of No. 2 seed Oklahoma and No. 12 seed Texas Tech as the third team to advance to the WCWS in Oklahoma City.
