Ole Miss Triumphs Over SEC Rivals for 2026 Georgia Defensive Back

Ole Miss Secures Key Commitment for 2026 Recruiting Class with Nassir ‘Nascar’ McCoy

OLE MISS, MS – The University of Mississippi has bolstered its 2026 recruiting class with the addition of Nassir ‘Nascar’ McCoy, a standout 3-star safety from Buford High School in Georgia. McCoy made the commitment official on July 26, choosing the Rebels over offers from prominent programs such as Georgia and Michigan.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, McCoy has quickly distinguished himself as a formidable talent, securing over two dozen offers from various schools, especially within the competitive Southeastern Conference (SEC). His decision to join Ole Miss signifies a significant win for head coach Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff, as the Rebels continue to build a strong roster for the future.

"The grind don’t stop, it just gets real. I’m all in for this journey! HOTTY TODDY🦈," McCoy tweeted, emphasizing his commitment to the program and his eagerness to contribute.

Rated as the 39th overall safety prospect nationally by the 247 Sports Composite, McCoy’s skill set is highlighted in his incredible Hudl highlights, showcasing his athleticism and playmaking ability on the field.

With McCoy’s commitment, Ole Miss now boasts a total of 15 commitments for the 2026 class, placing them 30th in national rankings. While the Rebels have just six commitments from top-300 prospects, there is ample time to enhance their standing as the recruiting process continues over the summer and fall.

Last season, Ole Miss demonstrated its recruiting prowess by securing the 16th overall class in the nation, complemented by successful efforts in the transfer portal. As the program looks to maintain momentum, Kiffin’s vision for building a competitive team remains steadfast.
