Ole Miss Secures Commitment from Former Wisconsin Pledge Carmelow Reed

In a significant recruiting win, Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have flipped a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Carmelow Reed, who previously pledged to Wisconsin. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon, as Reed has decided to join the Rebels after an official visit to Ole Miss on May 30.

Hailing from Rich Township High School in Olympia Fields, Illinois, just south of Chicago, Reed stands at an impressive 6’7” and weighs 250 pounds, making him a formidable edge rusher. Originally committed to the Badgers on April 7, Reed had an official visit to Wisconsin scheduled for June 6 but opted to switch allegiance after experiencing what Ole Miss had to offer.

Reed is regarded as a high 3-star talent, ranking as the No. 532 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 63 defensive lineman. He also holds offers from several programs, including LSU, Missouri, and Michigan State, illustrating his high demand in this recruiting cycle.

His commitment marks a significant addition to Ole Miss’s Class of 2026, making him the third defensive recruit secured by the Rebels, alongside 4-star linebacker Izayia Williams and 3-star cornerback Braylen Williams. As of June 2, Ole Miss ranks No. 36 in overall recruiting class standings, and Reed’s decision is expected to enhance their standing.

Kiffin continues to build a competitive roster, and this latest addition underscores the Rebels’ commitment to strengthening their defensive lineup ahead of the upcoming season. Carmelow Reed will be one to watch as he aims to make a mark in the SEC.
