NFL Press Release
Date: Wednesday, TBD

The NFL has officially launched its 272-game schedule for the 2025 regular season, which is set to commence on September 4 and conclude on January 4, 2026. This season promises to be memorable, featuring three Thanksgiving games, Christmas tripleheaders, and a special Black Friday matchup. For the first time, NFL action will occur on three Saturdays in December, alongside the usual Monday and Thursday night games.

A standout highlight of the upcoming season is the expanded international presence, with the league introducing games in Ireland, Spain, and Berlin, along with additional contests in London and a return to Brazil.

Players with Alabama football roots will make headlines throughout the season, notably in ten key matchups that promise both excitement and compelling storylines. The opener pits the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles against the Dallas Cowboys, a clash featuring two first-round Alabama draft picks—Tyler Booker and Jihaad Campbell.

Other notable games include:

  • Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (Sept. 7): Fans will remember Alabama’s Brian Branch’s previous encounter with the Packers, where he was ejected following a controversial hit.

  • Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs (Sept. 14): A Super Bowl rematch showcasing star Jalen Hurts, who has consistently delivered outstanding performances against the Chiefs.

  • Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins (Oct. 30): Both teams have recently seen explosive performances from Alabama quarterbacks, Tua Tagovailoa and Lamar Jackson.

The upcoming season is poised for thrilling matchups, reflecting the league’s commitment to entertainment and showcasing talent from Alabama colleges and high schools. For more NFL coverage, visit AL.com’s dedicated page.
