Missouri vs. Iowa bowl game outcome predicted by ESPN’s FPI

ESPN’s FPI predictor has released an early analysis of the upcoming Music City Bowl between Missouri and Iowa on Dec. 30 in Nashville. The game, scheduled for a Monday afternoon kickoff shortly after 2:30 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium, will feature the 9-3 Missouri Tigers facing off against the 8-4 Iowa Hawkeyes.

Missouri had a strong season under head coach Eli Drinkwitz, with faint hopes of a College Football Playoff berth until a loss in mid-November ended those aspirations. The Tigers will be looking to secure back-to-back double-digit win seasons under Drinkwitz, who led the team to 11 wins in 2023. Iowa, on the other hand, finished the regular season strong with four wins in their last five games, setting the stage for a competitive matchup in the Music City Bowl.

With both teams having similar records and playing on a neutral field, ESPN’s FPI predictor is evenly split on the outcome of the game. Missouri is given a slight edge with a 52.8% chance of victory, while Iowa is close behind with a 47.2% chance to end their season with a win.

The Music City Bowl promises to be an exciting showdown between two well-matched teams, and fans can expect an afternoon of intense college football action on December 30.
